About

If cooking has started to feel more like something you have to get through, than something to enjoy – you’re not alone.

You still care about feeding people well. You still want proper, homemade food on the table. But so much of what you see online feels rushed, complicated, or simply not created for everyday life.

Kitchen Mason is all about steady, reliable home cooking, that helps you feel comfortable in your kitchen – and enjoy it again.

Hello – I’m Emma

I’ve been cooking at home for over 20 years – not in a professional kitchen or with fancy equipment, but in an ordinary home kitchen using everyday ingredients.

As a child, I loved helping with dinner and baking with my Gran. Our kitchen wasn’t fancy, and we didn’t use expensive ingredients, but that never mattered. Good food came from love, care, and patience – not perfection.

Around 15 years ago, I started Kitchen Mason as a simple online cookbook for myself. I never imagined that other people looking for easy home cooking ideas and reliable family meals would want to use my recipes too. But over time, it grew into something much more.

Now, I dedicate my time to helping others feel more comfortable and confident, cooking from scratch at home.

I found your site only three days ago. I rarely leave comments but feel compelled to on this occasion. I made your lemon drizzle traybake yesterday - amazing, really! It turned out so well and was so easy and quick to make. It is good to have a 'UK' site using measurements which makes it so much easier to follow recipes. Yes I can use American/Australian recipes but I like easy! Also lovely to 'meet' a down to earth cook/baker who admits to mistakes in the learning process. I am now going to check out some more of your recipes. Despite having well over 100 cook books which I can read like novels, I also love to check out the web. Sometimes for speed and sometimes for pure interest.
