Want to make your own gifts this year? Fancy something other than cake or biscuits? Look no further! I’ve got you covered with this easy homemade Toffee Vodka. When I say easy, I mean easy. Here is what you will need to make approx 500mls.
*Or you could get mini bottles to make cute little versions.
Cut the toffees in half if your bottleneck is too small for them to fit whole. Pop them all into the bottle. (To avoid this step, you could make it in a large Kilner Jar then decant into bottles once the toffees have dissolved.)
Fill the rest of the bottle with vodka, you will need approx 450ml but it could be a little more or less. Leave a little room at the top so you can shake it later.
Pop the lid on and give it a bit of a shake/swill then leave at room temperature for a while.
You will see the bottle start to look like this… that means the toffees are dissolving.
So once every hour or so, give the bottle a shake. Tip the bottle upside down too to really mix it up. After about 9-10 hours, the toffees should have completely dissolved. Your toffee vodka is now ready to drink!
If you are giving this as a gift, tie some curling ribbon around the neck of the bottle and add your own tag to make it extra special. You could even write them a cocktail recipe on the tag, there are loads of toffee vodka cocktails out there! You could give these a try…
Toffee Apple Cocktail
Directions: Shake the toffee vodka, schnapps, apple juice & lemon together well and pour into a tall glass filled with crushed ice. Add a dash of grenadine for a bit of colour.
Toffee Colada Cocktail
Directions: Fill a tall glass with ice. Add the toffee vodka, rum & pineapple juice. Give it a stir then top up with ginger beer & a squeeze of fresh lime juice.
I hope you enjoyed the post my lovelies, until next time.
