One Pot Hawaiian Pasta Recipe
Here is what you will need to serve 4
Ingredients
- 200g Diced Pancetta
- 200g Ham, cubed *
- 1 x 500g Jar of Tomato & Garlic Sauce
- 475g Chicken Stock
- 1/2 tsp Onion Salt
- 1/2 tsp Dried Basil
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- 225g Dried Rigatoni Pasta
- 225g Pineapple Chunks, drained
- 100g Grated Mozzarella
- 1 tbsp Chopped Parsley, optional
*Fresh or tinned, either is fine.
Essential Equipment
- Large Lidded, Non Stick Frying Pan
Instructions
Firstly, heat the frying pan over a medium/high heat. When the pan is hot, add in the pancetta and fry until golden & crispy. (About 10 minutes.)
Remove from the pan and set to one side.
With the pancetta oils still in the pan, fry the cubed ham for a few minutes until golden.
Add the tomato sauce, chicken stock, onion salt, basil and black pepper and give it all a good stir.
Bring it to the boil then add the pasta. Reduce the heat to a simmer then pop the lid on and cook for about 15 minutes, until the pasta is al dente. Stir occasionally.
Turn off the heat, add in the pineapple & the cooked pancetta and give it a good stir.
Top with the grated mozzarella and pop the lid back on. No flame required, the heat from the pan alone will melt it. (Should take approx 5-10 mins)
Sprinkle with a little chopped parsley (optional) then divide between four bowls and serve immediately.
And there you have it. This One Pot Hawaiian Pasta dish is a perfect family treat meal. Ok it’s not the healthiest thing on the planet but it’s much better than a takeaway AND it’s insanely delicious! The best thing? There’s only one pan to wash, hurrah!
I hope you enjoyed the post my lovelies, until next time.
