It’s a beautiful sight to behold isn’t it?! Filling and satisfying gnocchi, smothered in everything that is good with the world… Have you stopped drooling yet? Great, I’ll crack on then…
Wonderfully comforting potato gnocchi teamed up with crumbled sausage in a tomato and garlic sauce all draped in melted mozzarella. Yep, just the 4 ingredients. Is this a midweek meal that’s actually too good to be true?

Gnocchi and Sausage Melt Recipe
Here is what you will need to serve 2
- 450g Shop Bought Gnocchi
- 4 x Sausages
- 1 x 400g Jar of Tomato & Garlic Sauce
- 50g Grated Mozzarella
- Chopped Fresh Parsley, optional
Firstly, preheat your oven to 210°C/Fan 200°C.
Then bring a large pan of lightly salted water to the boil. Meanwhile, squeeze the sausage meat out their cases and into a non stick frying pan set over a medium/high heat.
Using a spatula, ‘stab’ the meat until it crumbles up nicely. Continue to fry until cooked through.
While the sausage finishes cooking, tip the gnocchi into the boiling water and simmer for 2 minutes. (Or until it starts to float.)
Then drain the gnocchi & pour in the tomato & garlic sauce. Give it a stir.
Tip in the sausage and give it a final mix through.
Next, tip the lot into an oven proof dish/cast iron pot.
Scatter over all that beautiful cheese…
Lastly, bake in the oven for about 6-8 minutes until the cheese is melted and starting to turn golden.
Tuck in immediately! (As if you’re gonna be able to stop yourself…)

This is one I will certainly be making again. I can just see myself curled up with a large portion of it on a cold Winter’s night… Mmmm cosy!
