Looking for a fun activity to get the kids involved with this Easter? How about these super easy Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows?! You can use whatever flavour chocolate and decorations you like. Let them bring out their beautiful creativity! These also make a lovely homemade gift if you pop some in a clear cellophane bag tied with a ribbon. (You can go ahead and score some brownie points with the grandparents here.)
Here is what you will need to make approx 24-28.
Line a baking tray with baking paper and set to one side.
Break the milk chocolate into a microwavable bowl. Then with your microwave on half power, gently heat the chocolate in 10 – 15 second intervals stirring well between each time. When it’s about two thirds melted, the bowl should be warm enough to continue melting the rest so just stir until it’s nice and smooth.
Dip a marshmallow into the chocolate and shake off the excess back into the bowl.
Whilst still holding it, sprinkle over your sugar decorations. Then stand it, chocolate side up, on your prepared baking tray.
If you’re using hundreds and thousands (or similar) I found it easiest to have a bowl underneath to catch the inevitable fallout.
Repeat the above steps until your ingredients are used up then allow them to set at room temperature.
Store your Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows at room temperature in an airtight container and consume within 7-10 days.
Didn’t I tell you these were easy to make?! They’re super fun too which is exactly why the kids will love getting their little hands dirty with this recipe! You can go nuts with the flavours and decoration too. How about using white chocolate or even chocolate orange? You could decorate with chopped nuts, freeze dried fruit or even edible glitter for that extra dazzle. The possibilities are endless!
I hope you enjoyed the post my lovelies, until next time.
