Chocolate Thins

You want to make a beautiful & thoughtful gift for your loved one this Valentines Day but you just don’t have the time or energy to spend hours slaving away in the kitchen creating a master piece. I hear you, and I totally sypmathise! How about these eye catching but ridiculously quick & easy chocolate thins? They don’t take long to make, you can alter the chocolate or toppings to whatever flavours you like & they look like you put a LOT of effort in!

Here is what you will need to make 12 – 15.

White Chocolate & Strawberry

  • 100g White Chocolate
  • 3 Freeze Dried Strawberries, chopped

Milk Chocolate & Hazelnut

  • 100g Milk Chocolate
  • 4 – 5 tsp Chopped Hazelnuts

Essential Equipment

  • Large Baking Trays
  • Baking Paper
  • Sellotape

Firstly, line the backs of a couple of large baking sheets with baking paper and secure with sellotape.

Depending on what flavour you are making, break the white/milk chocolate into a large glass bowl. With your microwave on half power, gently heat the chocolate in 10 – 15 second intervals stirring well between each time. When it’s about two thirds melted, the bowl should be hot enough to continue melting the rest so just stir until it’s nice and smooth.

Take a teaspoon & drop blobs of the chocolate over the lined trays.

Bang the tray against the work surface to flatten out the chocolate.

Then, before the chocolate sets, sprinkle over the freeze dried strawberries/chopped hazelnuts and leave to set at room temperature.

Place into a nice presentation box lined with coloured tissue to make these into a beautiful gift anyone would love!

Now come on admit it, I told you they were easy didn’t I?! And they look so pretty! You can really mess around with the flavours to suit your tastes too. How about dark chocolate with chopped pistachios? Or Milk chocolate & raisin? Even white chocolate with chopped cranberries. You could just simply do chocolate thins using your favourite chocolate without any topping at all! Use your imagination.
