This amazing One Pot Orzo Bolognese is seriously tasty! It packs tons of flavour and requires minimal time & effort. It’s also far less tricky to eat than the more widely known Spaghetti Bolognese. Sound good to you? Me too! For those of you that don’t know, orzo is actually a type of pasta, even though it looks similar to rice. It tastes proper yum though I promise!
Here is what you will need to serve 3.
(Recipe adapted from Recipe Tin Eats.)
Heat the frying pan over a medium heat then add the oil, garlic & onion. Stir frequently and fry until softened. (About 3-4 minutes.)
Then add the minced beef to the pan and start to break it apart using a wooden spatula. While the meat is still pink, season well with salt, then continue to cook and break apart until it’s completely browned.
Next add all the remaining ingredients to the pan except for the orzo, parmesan & parsley. (So the passata, Worcestershire sauce, Italian herbs, beef stock pot and water.)
Give it a good stir then bring to the boil. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer and add in the orzo.
Stirring frequently so it doesn’t catch on the bottom, simmer for 7-10 minutes until the pasta is cooked to your liking.
Finally, give it a taste and season with more salt if needs be. Serve immediately, sprinkling over a little parmesan & chopped parsley if you like.
Didn’t I tell you this recipe was crazy easy, quick & delicious?! With only one pot to wash too, added bonus! It really is a delightfully tasty meal, I implore you to try it. There’s a wonderful richness to it that makes it gloriously satisfying AND it’s perfect all year round!
I hope you enjoyed the post my lovelies, until next time!
