Garlic & Thyme Baked Camembert

For me, Christmas just isn’t complete without a mountain of cheese. My absolute favourite? It has to be baked camembert teamed up with my Sweet Chilli Jam. If Heaven really exists, it’s filled with the stuff!

I’ve always simply sliced a cross in the top and baked it in the past. This gorgeous recipe seriously takes it up a level though! Adding hints of garlic and thyme, that silky melty cheese becomes the stuff of dreams… So! Here is what you will need to make your very own.

Serves 3 – 4 as a starter or snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 x 250g Wheel of Camembert

  • Garlic Infused Olive Oil
  • Your Choice of Bread, to serve *

*I used a granary baguette.

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 180°C/Fan 170°C,

Remove the camembert from it’s plastic wrapper & place either back in its wooden box, or into a fitted dish.

Slice a cross hatch pattern in the top of the cheese. Try not to cut into the sides.

Roughly slice the garlic clove then wedge them into the lines you’ve just cut.

Tear the leaves off a sprig of thyme and scatter them over the top. Press a few into the cuts to really get the flavour in.

Drizzle a little garlic olive oil over the top then place it onto a baking tray.

It’s literally as easy as that! Now you can slice up some tasty bread & delve in. This is insanely delicious! I could get totally lost in it’s cheesy, garlic embrace. It’s a great addition to any cheese board, makes a lovely starter or simply a snack with drinks. It’s so versatile too, why not try it with some rosemary instead? Or crank up the heat and add some chilli flakes? The choice is yours…
